Due to covid, we've been teaching karate from home. We've been using a lamp w/an old car phone holder rubber banded to it as our main light/camera stand. I finally got sick of this setup, and purchased the Radiance Ring Light. What a difference! Not only does it provide the much-needed front-facing light so that the students can see us, but it has not one, but TWO phone holders that easily attach. Both are very secure, so no dropped cameras. The gooseneck holder that is attached in the middle of the ring light is very sturdy, so the phone doesn't flop forward in the middle of class. The stand is very light weight and easily moved around.While bright, I do have to admit that I wouldn't use this as your only source of light if you are streaming at a distance from the camera in a dark room like we do. It gets pretty dark during the winter here, so we use it in conjunction with two side lights since we're about 12 feet away from the camera. You can also adjust the brightness level for the light, so if you're using it just on the other side of your laptop, you won't get blinded! It has several different color settings, so you can choose the "warmth" of the light. It does a pretty decent job at replicating incandescent light which is usually a challenge for LED's. I haven't used the remote (I just got it set up for class yesterday), so I can't comment on that. NOTE: there is NO PLUG. It draws power via USB since it is mainly used for streaming. There's plenty of USB power outlet converter/extension cords on Amazon, so you should get one if you don't already have one. Otherwise, just plug it into your laptop USB port.Finally, it was SO easy to set up! The instructions were concise & easy to read, and appear to have been written by someone who has a good grasp of the English language, lol, so no having to interpret what they mean. The drawings were well done, so I had no problem identifying parts, but there weren't many parts to begin with. It only took me about 5 minutes to get it set up.I'm so pleased with this purchase. What a great product for such a great price. You can't beat it. My only question is, "Why did I wait so long to get one???"
