Now that we have the fan working, it is really nice. Puts out a lot of air and is very quiet. I had some difficulties getting it working, however, which in hindsight is really due to lack of clarity in the installation manual. The problem we encountered after installation was that after turning on the power and trying to start it with the remote control, the fan was very jittery, going from forward to reverse in small steps, never really spinning like a fan should. The light worked fine but the fan stuttering caused me to think there was a problem so I cut off the power. I contacted Parrot Uncle through Amazon and they offered to send me a new control unit, but while waiting for their response I found a forum somewhere where someone showed a video of a different brand fan doing the same thing and the responses they received said that this is the normal learning mode for a DC-motor fan, and to just let it go for awhile until it starts working normally. So, that's what I did and it worked. I think a small note in the installation instructions about this behavior would be helpful. Anyway, we are very pleased now. Parrot Uncle was very responsive when we were messaging through Amazon, so I believe they really will stand behind their products.
