Rewired entire house, so we had dozens of lights to buy. We looked everywhere, from big box stores, to large, lighting specialty businesses. It was pretty overwhelming, but we could not find lights for a few certain rooms. Found these by accident, but glad we did. These sconces are very basic but really nice, and seem to be well-made.I have been staring at the bright brass candle sconces above my living room fireplace for years. They just do not fit the style of the house. I browse fixtures from time to time. Finally I spotted these....perfect I thought. I was right. Once installed they look like they were designed for the room. The phrase: 'once they were installed' should not put you off. My house was built in the 1920's; apparently junction boxes were invented after that. The offensive brass sconces (mentioned above) had been gerry-rigged on to some antique fitting. Further adaptation ensued. With a normal junction box installation should be a snap.Love these. Sturdy, well-made. A little on the expensive side, but they look great. Can be hung facing up or down. Easy to change the bulbs. Provides plenty of light in our small powder room.THIS PRODUCT ARRIVED ON TIME DESPITE THE WEATHER CONDITIONS AND IN GOOD CONDITION. EVERYTHING WAS IN ORDER AND WAS AS IT SHOULD BE. BEING THE LAST ONE I WAS A LITTLE ANXIOUS. I WAS HAPPY WITH THE OIL RUBBED BRONZE FINISH. THE LIGHT ITSELF WAS A LITTLE SHORTER THAN I WOULD'VE LIKED IT TO BE. BUT THE DIMENSIONS WERE LISTED AS SUCH. ENDED UP USING THIS WITH THE GLASS OPEN ON TOP. INITIALLY THINKING THAT I DIDN'T WANT TO SEE DOWN INTO THE OPEN GLASS TOP AS IT WAS ON A STAIRWAY WALL. THINK IT LOOKS BEST AS SHOWN IN THE PICTURE.Although our house was architect designed, it showed its 1978 origins with globe sconces in the LR. After much searching we found Kichler's Hendrik wall sconce, got two, and they look even better than we expected. A touch of elegance without fussiness or crystals or extra loop-de-loops. If we move to an Arts & Crafts or Bungalow style house, we'll take these with us. They would fit into a variety of decorating styles.Another nice addition to the Hendrik line of lighting fixtures. While expensive, they are better quality than anything I have seen in the box stores. Installation is typical for this hard wired fixture. Using soft white LED bulbs, the color of light is a nice warm tone. Love the heavy frosted lenses. Its nice and somewhat stylish. The light cover is actually smokey and rather stout. We have had it for a few months now and have decided to replace it with something else. It looks like a white cylinder cover but that is because the light is turned on. The cover is almost brownish when the light isn't on.Very good quality, elegant, subtle. Love it !
